Earlier this semester, members of the Bulldog Student Investment Fund (BSIF) took part in a Shark Tank–style stock pitch activity. Members were placed into teams and given 40 minutes to prepare a four-minute pitch on a company of their choice. Each team presented its investment idea to the rest of the group, highlighting the company’s opportunity and key considerations. After all presentations were completed, members voted on the strongest pitch, and the winning team received an award for their performance.                                         …

Earlier this semester, four members of the Bulldog Student Investment Fund (BSIF) had the opportunity to represent Truman State University at the Student Managed Investment Fund Consortium (SMIFC) in Chicago, Illinois. The SMIFC conference brings together students and faculty advisors from universities across the nation to share insights, strategies, and best practices in managing real investment portfolios. Over the course of two days, our team participated in a series of keynote sessions, workshops, and networking events led by industry professionals from leading firms in finance, investment management, and consulting.
